Each of the seven has its own preparation and its own paperwork, and each begins the same way, with a conversation with a priest or with the parish office. Nothing here needs to be difficult.

Baptism

Celebrated on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. Parents attend one preparation session; please contact the office at least a month ahead.

First Holy Communion

Two years of catechism, usually from Standard II. Registration for the new year opens in June.

Confirmation

Preparation runs through the year for candidates in Standard IX and above, with the Archbishop or his delegate conferring the sacrament.

Reconciliation

Fridays, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 6:00 – 7:00 PM; Saturdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, and at any time by appointment. If it has been many years, say so; that is the easiest confession a priest hears.

Marriage

Give the parish office six months' notice. Both parties attend the archdiocesan marriage preparation course before the date is fixed.

Anointing of the Sick

For someone seriously ill or in danger of death, call a priest at any hour. A priest will come. Do not wait until the last moment.

Holy Orders

If you are considering priesthood or religious life, speak to one of our priests. The conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Becoming Catholic

Adults preparing for Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist are accompanied through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. The group meets weekly from August.
