- There is limited parking inside the compound, which fills before the Sunday Masses. Auto-rickshaws from the station know the church by name.
- Step-free access
- Step-free entry at the side porch, and reserved seating near the front on both aisles. If you would like someone to meet you at the gate, the parish office will arrange it.
Your first visit
The questions people ask most often, answered plainly. Nothing here is a test, and nobody is watching to see whether you know what to do.
- What happens during Mass?
- Mass falls into two halves. First we listen: readings from Scripture, a psalm, the Gospel, and a short homily from the priest. Then comes the Eucharistic prayer and Holy Communion. The congregation stands, sits and kneels together through it; follow at your own pace, or simply sit and listen. Nobody will ask you to stand out.
- How long does Mass last?
- About an hour on Sundays, and around half an hour on weekday mornings and evenings. Feast days and the parish feast run longer, and the times for those are in the BLEST Member app.
- Where should I sit?
- Anywhere you like. Arriving ten minutes early is comfortable and gives you a choice of seat. The places nearest the front on both aisles are kept for those who need them.
- What should I wear?
- We ask visitors to dress modestly and respectfully, in keeping with the sacredness of the church and reverence for the celebration of Mass.
- Can I receive Communion?
- Catholics who are prepared to receive come forward for Holy Communion. If you are not Catholic, or would simply rather not receive, please remain in your seat and pray in respectful silence.
- Can non-Catholics visit?
- Yes, at any time. The church is open every day for anyone who wants to come in, light a candle, sit in the quiet or attend Mass. Nobody will ask who you are or why you came.
- Are children welcome?
- Very welcome, noise included. The 9:15 AM Sunday Mass is the Children’s Mass, with the children’s choir, and catechism classes meet on Sunday mornings.
- I have not been to church in years. Is that a problem?
- Not at all. Welcome back; there is nothing to explain to anyone. If you would like to go to Confession first, any of the priests will gladly help, and the Confession times are above.
