Confirmation
Preparation runs through the year for candidates in Standard IX and above, with the Archbishop or his delegate conferring the sacrament.
All seven sacraments- What is it?
- The gift of the Holy Spirit, completing baptism. The Archbishop, or a priest he sends, anoints the candidate with chrism.
- Who is it for?
- Baptised candidates in Standard IX and above, and adults preparing through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults.
- When is it celebrated?
- [On a date each year, announced once the Archbishop’s visit is fixed.]
- How far in advance?
- Register at the start of the year of preparation.
- Preparation
- Preparation runs through the year, alongside catechism. Each candidate has a sponsor, who should be a practising Catholic who has been confirmed.
- Who should I contact?
- The parish office, during office hours.
- What happens next?
- The parish enrols the candidate and the preparation begins. The date is given to the candidates once the Archbishop’s visit is fixed.
