The sacraments
Holy Orders
If you are considering priesthood or religious life, speak to one of our priests. The conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
All seven sacraments- What is it?
- A man is ordained deacon, priest or bishop, to serve the Church in the person of Christ. Religious life, in a community such as the Capuchins, is a distinct calling with a path of its own.
- Who is it for?
- Men considering the priesthood or religious life, and women considering religious life, who are welcome to the same conversation.
- When is it celebrated?
- There is no season for it. Begin whenever the thought will not leave you alone.
- How far in advance?
- None.
- Preparation
- It begins as a conversation with one of our priests, and goes at your pace. Formation, if you take it further, is arranged by the province or the seminary.
- Who should I contact?
- Any of the priests of the parish. Ask after Mass, or through the office.
- What happens next?
- You talk, and you keep talking for as long as you need. The conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
- Documents to bring
- None.

Ask the parish office.
Tell us a little about yourself and we will take it from there. Everything for Holy Orders begins with this one conversation.
The office is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. You can also write to po@olof.in.
