The sacraments

Holy Orders

If you are considering priesthood or religious life, speak to one of our priests. The conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

All seven sacraments
What is it?
A man is ordained deacon, priest or bishop, to serve the Church in the person of Christ. Religious life, in a community such as the Capuchins, is a distinct calling with a path of its own.
Who is it for?
Men considering the priesthood or religious life, and women considering religious life, who are welcome to the same conversation.
When is it celebrated?
There is no season for it. Begin whenever the thought will not leave you alone.
How far in advance?
None.
Preparation
It begins as a conversation with one of our priests, and goes at your pace. Formation, if you take it further, is arranged by the province or the seminary.
Who should I contact?
Any of the priests of the parish. Ask after Mass, or through the office.
What happens next?
You talk, and you keep talking for as long as you need. The conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Documents to bring
None.

Ask the parish office.

Tell us a little about yourself and we will take it from there. Everything for Holy Orders begins with this one conversation.

The office is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. You can also write to po@olof.in.
